Anxiety/Panic attacks
We all experience anxiety in our lives but for some of us it can become overwhelming at times and even result in panic attacks which can be terrifying.
Anxiety is a natural reaction to perceived danger and is sometimes known as the 'fight or flight' response.
Nowadays, we are less likely to need to fight or run away from, for example, dangerous wild animals but our body still responds to certain difficult situations as if we are in danger and this upsets the chemical balance in our bodies.
There are many hypnotherapy techniques that can be of help in the management of anxiety and panic attacks. Learning to relax and connect to the part of the nervous system that enables us to feel calm can be really beneficial, along with techniques that interrupt the thoughts that often accompany those feelings of panic, can work well.
